Around 30 Rooms Secured for Our Student in the Graduate Institute’s New Student Residence

3 May 2021

As of this September 2021, incoming students of our LLM in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights and Master of Advanced Studies in Transitional Justice, Human Rights and the Rule of Law will have the opportunity to stay at the new Grand Morillon student residence of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies – one of our parent institutions.

Around 30 rooms will be reserved each academic year for our students, adding to the ten reserved places at the Edgar and Daniele de Picciotto Residence and the six at the Résidence Universitaire Internationale. Applications for these three residences open in May and are processed through our Student Office.

A Unique Additional Accommodation Option

‘We are very grateful to the Graduate Institute: this new accommodation opportunity is a real added value for these two programmes and a unique accommodation option for our students’ underlines Professor Gloria Gaggioli, Director of the Geneva Academy.

Designed by renowned architect Kengo Kuma, the new residence includes a coffee shop, meeting and study rooms, a recreation room, a fitness centre and a multifunctional hall, community gardens, three rooftops – one of which offers magnificent views of Lake Geneva, Mont Blanc and Jura mountains –, green spaces, as well as laundry facilities.

At the Heart of International Geneva

‘The residence is ideally situated in the heart of international Geneva, and within walking distance or a five minutes bus ride to both the Maison de la paix and our headquarters Villa Moynier’ explains Dany Diogo, Coordinator of our Master Programmes.

This is a great chance for our incoming students and it will allow us to ensure, every academic year, around 50 affordable and high-quality accommodation for them’ underlines Dany Diogo.
