Claudia Martin is the Co-Director of the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law and Professorial Lecturer in Residence at American University Washington College of Law. She specializes in international law, international and comparative human rights law, and Inter-American human rights law. She is also a founding member and serves in the Secretariat of GQUAL, a campaign to promote gender parity representation in international court and organs. Additionally, she is founding member and one of the coordinators of the Red Latinoamericana de Litigio Estratégico en Género (ReLeG). In that role, she has submitted several amici curiae and expert briefs before international and domestic courts to ensure justice for victims of sexual violence and other forms of gender-based violence in Latin America. Most recently, she has served as an independent expert member of the International Mission to Observe the Selection and Appointment of the Justices of the Supreme Court of Honduras (MIO).
