Felix Kirchmeier is the founding Executive Director of the Geneva Human Rights Platform, a project of the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.
In this role he leads the development of this platform anchored in international Geneva. This includes liaising with diplomatic missions, United Nations human rights experts, civil society actors and academia, identifying institutional issues needing coordination and a multi-stakeholder approach, hosting expert meetings and public conferences, including the flagship annual conference of the GHRP.
Aiming to expand the work of the UN human rights mechanisms in the digital sphere and to deliver training on AI for human rights professionals, Felix also was appointed as a member of the Steering Committee of ITU's AI Skills Coalition.
Before joining the Geneva Academy, he worked at Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung where he served as Senior Programme Officer for Human Rights and Development and Focal Point for international human rights projects. There he organized conferences on the development of human rights law and coordinated training on international human rights mechanisms in Geneva and in the field.
Felix holds a master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Freiburg, Germany.
