Areas of expertise

Dr Claire Callejon is a senior researcher at the Paris Human Rights Center and has been working with the Geneva Human Rights Platform since 2017.

Her areas of expertise include international human rights law, the United Nations (UN) Human Rights machinery and refugee law. She has worked as a consultant specializing in legal research for human rights NGOs and more recently for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. She also worked as a judge assessor appointed by the UNHCR at the French National Court of Asylum, which is the court of appeal for asylum seekers in France.

Dr Callejon holds a PhD in Public Law from Paris II University (Panthéon-Assas) which she completed under the supervision of Professor Emmanuel Decaux. Her PhD dissertation focused on the reform of the UN Human Rights Commission and the Human Rights Council. She also holds a Master’s degree in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law from the same university.
