Alexandra Boivin

Alexandra Boivin works for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), heading the sector in charge of outreach to universities, within the Communication Department.
Her work involves promoting the teaching of international humanitarian law (IHL) by supporting ICRC delegations build and manage relations with tertiary institutions, primarily in areas of the world affected by armed violence. Prior to joining the ICRC in 2006, she carried out research on a number of international legal issues, and wrote on the legal regime applicable to military targeting, the transfer of small arms and light weapons, and the importance of engaging armed groups in a humanitarian dialogue. Alexandra Boivin holds degrees in Political Science, Middle East Studies and Law (McGill University, Montreal), as well as a Master's Degree in International Relations (Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva).
